3 Areas That Every Runner Must Not Neglect

If you enjoy running in your free time, as exercise, or a way of losing weight, there are a few things that you must NOT neglect to make running a part of your lifestyle for years to come. Keep reading to find out the 3 things that you need to know to succeed as a runner or watch the full video HERE.

You have to make sure that you never neglect these parts of your body because a lot of people who run find that over time they can get injuries or start facing challenges that they never had before. If this happens to you, you won’t be able to run your best.

The 3 areas of your body that you can not neglect as a runner are:

  1. You can’t ignore your hip and your core area. It’s really important to play close attention to this area when you’re running. The reason behind this is that your hips give you stability and the right alignment to your knees. We always think that the knees are the most important part of running, we hear things like “Runner’s Knees” or people complaining that they can’t run anymore because their knees hurt. What many of us don’t realize is that the cause of the pain is likely from poor stability and alignment from your hips.

  2. You can’t ignore your knees. Your knees are especially important because they are a really big part of running. The surrounding areas like your quadriceps, your hamstrings, adductors, inner thigh muscles are important to provide greater stability to your knees.

  3. You can’t ignore your ankles. Your ankle joints are extremely important because they are the first place of contact that hits the ground when you’re running.

A MESSAGE TO RUNNERS

So if you’re a runner, you can’t neglect or ignore these 3 areas of your body whether you’re training or developing these parts of your body for greater endurance, stability, mobility, and the ability to sustain greater forces on your ankles, hips and knees. These 3 areas are crucial for running successfully without recurring injuries or getting injured in the first place. Taking good care of your ankles, knees, and hips will also make you run better.

As a runner, start to really invest in these 3 areas because they are essential to your lower quarter so that you can perform your best when it comes to strength, force production, and endurance.
